Before I trained in the Platinum Rule with Alpha, I had a 3 step sales process. 1. Present products & services in face to face meeting, 2. On-site survey of present Hygiene Systems and Products, Step 3. Present proposal in face to face meeting, ask for the business and a start date. This approach works well with 2 of the 4 P-R Comfort Zones, but not so well with the other 2! My natural impatience and desire to ‘get on with it’ led me to believe that a “leave it with me…” response was a NO! I would contact them a couple of times by phone in the next few days but then get bored of ringing and let the sale go. Now that I understand how to identify the customers comfort Zone, I have introduced a Step 4: I say “I appreciate there is a lot to take in so would like to come back and discuss the proposal with you on [date]“. This has worked on 2 occasions where I have won the business simply by adapting my natural behaviour so that they feel more comfortable buying from me. Turnover fronm these 2 accounts amounts to between £800 to £1000 per month.

Using the Platinum Rule has taught me to communicate with prospective clients in the way they want to be communicated with which has recently enabled us to win a new sizeable contract worth £750 per month! It has also enabled me to make huge headway with the team of people I lead to ensure that I have the right people in the right roles for the right reasons.

Since working with Alpha, my working class self-imposed glass ceiling has been removed and I have a clarity and focus that I didn’t have before. This has been instrumental to the success of 4Networking on so many fronts. Possibly the best investment I made in my business.
Brad Burton (4Networking Ltd)
My brother works for me delivering and servicing customers. Before Tamsen taught me to use the Platinum Rule, if he presented me with a problem I would be completely intolerant and not listen to his reasoning, instead, bollocking him for failing. Now that I understand his Comfort Zone and have learned to adapt my behaviour when dealing with him, less problems arise, he makes less mistakes and he contributes more to the business in changing things for the better. It has also improved my family relationship with him which was an unexpected bonus!

I think it is worth saying that I have previously used both DISC and Myers Briggs profiles but have found the Platinum Rule spectacular in the simplicity with which I am able to put it into practise. I was already building a successful business and was aware that all of my clients were like me – chatty, touchy feely. Taking on the lessons from the Platinum Rule has enabled me to approach, with confidence, prospective clients who have very different behaviours to me. Specifically, the Managing Director of a very large retailer, who I had hitherto not approached, has now responded warmly to my ideas, as a direct result of me treating him how he liked to be treated – no chat, straight to the point, leaving him in control.”

My Alpha Report helped me to fully understand something I kind of thought I did anyway but wasn’t really sure about. In defining my own style it has enabled me to be able to pinpoint other peoples styles, adapt my behaviour and build rapport more easily. It has now become so much more natural to me that most of the time I don’t even know I’m using it! Tamsen Garrie is an amazing practitioner who has the uncanny ability to not only define peoples styles but to show them how to relate to each other in a way that makes both parties feel entirely comfortable as it’s actually coming from them. She is great to work with, has energy, vision and drive always with a great big smile on her face! I recommend engaging her wholeheartedly.

Having always tried to apply the golden rule of treating others how I would wish to be treated, I sometimes faced events where this did not seem to work. Having been taught the platinum rule by Tamsen of Alpha, I have since been able to apply this not only in my professional life but also my personal life, enabling me to communicate more effectively with others in a far more positive manner. Tamsen in her wonderful style made learning the platinum rule easy, fun and applicable to everyday life. I can honestly say I use it everyday and find it invaluable.

I have found the Platinum Rule to be of great benefit not only within 4Networking but also within my own business. Staff have always been a challenge and one particular lady who is very good in tele-sales has been a great challenge not just to me but the rest of the team. With my learning of the Platinum Rule I have been able to communicate much better with her as well as teach the team how to work with her. This has created a happier and more efficient working environment for all. Within my Regional Leader role within business network 4N, I have also had good results. I have managed to communicate and engage much better with one member of the Regional Team which I had previouslt found quite challenging. Through the use of the Platinum Rule I have engaged with him and enabled a much more productive working relationship.

Having used the Platinum Rule behaviour pointers to establish the best behavioural style most suitable for the different team roles, one of my leaders is now using the Platinum Rule to appraise his existing teams. He has also identified two new team members and is using the tool to assess their suitability for the team and the role.
